When should you choose BOOX Go Color 7 (Gen II)?
It's right for you if you read manga, comics, or books with color pictures and illustrations, and you want a lightweight device with page-turn buttons and reading apps of your choice.
It may not be right for you if you expect saturated colors like a phone, because E Ink colors are soft and the color resolution is 150 ppi. It's also not for you if most of your files are A4-size PDFs, you want a main device for writing and note-taking, or you mostly watch videos and play games.
How is it different from a phone or a regular tablet? A phone or a regular tablet shows saturated colors from a backlit screen, while Go Color 7 shows soft colors on an E Ink screen that reflects light like paper, so it's easier on the eyes for long reading and uses less power.
What's the difference between Go Color 7 (Gen II) and Go 7?
Both devices share the same size and weight: a 7-inch screen with 300 ppi for text, a warm and cold front light, page-turn buttons, Android 13, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage with a microSD card slot, and a 2,300mAh battery. The difference is in the screen:
- Go Color 7 (Gen II): a color screen that displays 4,096 colors.
- Go 7: a black and white screen.
If you read manga, comics, and color books, Go Color 7 (Gen II) is the better choice for you. If most of your reading is novels and text, Go 7 is enough.
